Community and Government Affairs

The Opelika Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Committee is committed to representing chamber members by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with government officials and by closely monitoring local, state and national legislation that is of interest to chamber members and may impact the local business community.

Voter Registration in the State of Alabama is managed by the Secretary of State's office.  You can download a Voter Registration form at http://www.sos.state.al.us/Elections/VoterReg.aspx or you can register in person at the Lee County Board of Registrar's Office in the Lee County Courthouse at 215 S. 9th St. in downtown Opelika.

City of Opelika

The City of Opelika has a mayor-council form of government where the mayor, elected by the citizenry, is a paid admistrator, and the council is a voting body of representatives from the city's five wards or districts.  Municipal elections are held every four years in Opelika.
