Leadership Lee County

               LEADERSHIP LEE COUNTY ANNOUNCES NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR 

The Leadership Lee County board of directors is proud to announce that Virginia Christian is now serving as the executive director of Leadership Lee County.  She received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Human Development and Family Studies from Auburn University. She also served as the director of operations for Yes We Can! Dothan where she managed community conversations around the city with almost 1000 Dothan citizens participating in sharing their voice and desires for improving both the school system and community. She is also currently working for the Mobile Area Education Foundation as the program director of Yes We Can! Alabama.  Christian plans to continue working in Auburn as well as other communities around the state to promote community engagement in the public education system.

Leadership Lee County is now accepting applications for the fall class.  Leadership Lee County is a professional development program designed to teach participants about the community while creating a network of dynamic leaders.   Participants are selected on the basis of ability, demonstrated interest in the community, and potential for responsible and effective leadership.  Leadership Lee County is sponsored by both the Auburn Chamber and the Opelika Chamber.  Leadership Lee County meets one day each month from September through April.  The class graduates in May.
