Terry Andrus, president of EAMC, was recently elected to serve as a board member for the Alabama Hospital Association.  Andrus also represents hospitals at the State Committe of Public Health.  He also won the 2009 Grassroots Champion Award.

The Marriott at Grand National was recenlty named the "2008 Marriott Franchise Hotel of the Year" by the Marriott North American Lodging Organization (NALO).  

Barbara Patton won the Distinguished Citizen Award, presented by the Chattachoochee Council, Boy Scouts of America.  This award brings singular recognition to an individual who has rendered outstanding service to the community, state, or nation.

Ruth Meadows, Opelika Middle School teacher, was chosen as one of 26 teachers in the country to take part in the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Teacher at Sea program.

Hampton Inn & Suites in Opelika wins the "Wall of Fame" award for the 1st and 2nd quarters 2009. With more than 1,600 Hilton brand hotels, the Opelika establishment is listed in the top 2 percent for its excellent service and quality product.

and Associates 2009 Full Service Investor Satisfaction study.

Dottie Shanks won the Alabama Housing Finance Authority's 2009 Manager of the Year Award.
