Opelika Chamber of Commerce to host 67th Annual Meeting
Opelika, AL-(November 2, 2007)- The Opelika Chamber of Commerce will host its 67th Annual meeting at The Marriott Auburn-Opelika Hotel at Grand National on Thursday, January 17, 2008. This member only event is sponsored by BancorpSouth Bank and Drs. Tatum & Tatum.
The Chamber is pleased to present singer/songwriter Allen Levi. Levi, a former Columbus, Georgia attorney laid his briefcase down in 1990 for a short stint in Edinburgh, Scotland in pursuit of a Masters of English Literature degree. Upon his arrival back to Georgia, this folk musician devoted himself full-time to writing and singing about the world around him. Levi focuses many songs on the celebration of the Southern Life.
“Our community has been blessed with tremendous growth and our members do so much to better our community. The Annual Meeting is just a small way for us to honor our members, celebrate Opelika and reflect on the Chamber’s efforts in the previous year,” said Wendi Routhier, president of the Opelika Chamber of Commerce.
The banquet-style dinner will begin at 6:30 p.m. A cash bar will be available at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the event, which is open to all members, may be ordered by calling the Chamber office at (334) 745-4861. Individual tickets are $45 each, or a table for 10 may be reserved for $450. Please make reservations by January 7, 2008. Limited seating is available.
As is tradition, several awards recognizing Opelika residents and community leaders who have worked to help bring continued success to the community and the Chamber will be presented during the meeting. The awards to be presented include the Spirit of Opelika Award, the Distinguished Service Award, the Small Business of the Year Award and the Ambassador of the Year Award.
