Character Council Post Needs Assessment Survey
Opelika, AL - (August 8, 2007) - The Opelika Character Council was developed out of the Race Relations/Cultural Diversity Task Force of Envision Opelika under the leadership of Tom Tippett. Resolutions have been passed in support of the Council efforts by the Mayor and the Opelika City Council, the Opelika Chamber of Commerce Board and the Opelika Board of Education.
The Character Council’s mission is “to promote character development as a vital, lifelong process and to facilitate excellence in character within all facets of the Opelika community”. In order to move this project forward, the Character Council has formulated an action plan with the first steps as follows: 1) Assess existing efforts in character development (2) Identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement within our community.
The Needs Assessment Survey, originated by Betty Wingo and Bill James of the Character Council and approved by the Council and the Chamber of Commerce Board, is included here for you to help in this effort. The survey will give us valuable information on what is already being done in the area of character development and work place ethics.
